Astro Upgrade for Bro Dysynni

Byw’n Iach Bro Dysynni is set to receive a major boost to its sporting facilities thanks to conditional funding for the upgrade of its AstroTurf pitch. The investment will enable the installation of a modern, high-performance surface designed to better serve the needs of the local sporting community.

The existing AstroTurf, which has hosted countless matches, training sessions, and community events over the years, will be replaced with a more modern surface that meets today’s standards for safety, durability, and playability. This upgrade will benefit a wide range of users – from grassroots hockey and football teams, to school groups, recreational players, and regional clubs.

“This is a fantastic development for Bro Dysynni and the wider community,” said Daniel Joyce of Byw’n Iach. “The new surface will provide a more enjoyable experience for everyone who uses it, and it reflects our commitment to supporting active lifestyles and inclusive sport.”

Work on the upgrade is expected to begin later this year. Once completed, the facility will be better equipped to host competitive fixtures and community events, offering a safer and more versatile playing environment.

The funding has been made possible through the support of Cyngor Gwynedd, Sport Wales via the Pitch Collaboration Fund, the Welsh Government, the UK Government’s Shared Prosperity Fund, Dysynni Hockey Club, and the local community, all of whom recognise the importance of investing in facilities that promote health, wellbeing, and social connection.
