Pool swimwear rules

Byw’n Iach strives to ensure that our customers feel comfortable in our swimming pools by showering before swimming and wearing clean swimwear. We want customers to feel comfortable using our pools and pride ourselves on being a provider of recreation for all. See below our swimwear guide to help make it clearer.

These are the rules of our Byw’n Iach swimming pools when it comes to swimwear

We welcome customers to wear the following:

  • Swimwear, swimming dresses, bikinis, tankinis, burkinis, modesty suits
  • Swimming shorts/trunks
  • Babies and children who have not yet been toilet trained must wear a disposable swimming nappy under appropriate swimwear.
  • As well as swimwear customers can wear lycra based t-shirts (long or short sleeved), shorts or leggings
  • Swimwear that is not chlorine resistant material could be damaged
  • We ask customers to wear clothing that provides adequate coverage and is not see-through when wet


Wearing the following clothing is not acceptable:

  • Underwear
  • Denim items, heavy and/or loose clothing
  • Cotton based clothing
  • It is recommended to remove all jewellery before swimming


Pool Footwear Rules:

  • Customers may wear suitable pool shoes when moving from changing facilities to poolside, no outdoor footwear
  • Only pool socks can be worn when swimming. However, if you have a medical condition and require additional footwear please speak to the reception prior to entering for your swim.
