Over the last few months, Byw’n Iach has hosted a set of swimming galas for primary schools across Gwynedd. A total of 8 galas were organised, one at each Byw’n Iach swimming pool, with an additional event at Byw’n Iach Arfon for Hafod Lon and Pendalar schools.
The galas allowed over 900 children from local schools to compete and showcase the skills they had learnt in their school swimming lessons over the year. At each competition, all schools showcased a high standard of swimming, competing in various strokes and relays, however these schools came out on top:
School under 70 – Ysgol Waunfawr
School under 70 – Ysgol Y Gelli
Gala for children with additional needs – Ysgol Pendalar
Big school – Ysgol Y Faenol
Small school – Ysgol Tregarth
Ysgol OM Edwards
Schools over 80 – Ysgol Cymerau
Schools under 80 – Ysgol Tudweiliog
School over 80 – Ysgol Eifion Wyn
School under 80 – Ysgol Tan y Castell
