Important Customer Message – December 2021

Gwynedd Council

Important Customer Message – December 2021

Dear Customers

As we re-open our centres after Christmas, there will be some changes to our arrangements to comply with the new Welsh Government Covid 19 regulations. There is now a very clear understanding of the importance of staying active in maintaining our health and well-being, so we will make every effort to continue to offer you all normal services, whilst taking extra steps to keep you safe and reducing pressure on public services.

Here is a summary of the new arrangements:

  • All visitors will be required to maintain a social distance of 2m while inside our buildings.
  • Follow the signs around the building to help you to leave space for others.
  • In order to create sufficient space for everyone, we will require parents to stay outside the centre while their children participate in sporting activities e.g. swimming lessons, gymnastics, tennis and club sessions. Parents of children under 8 and those with additional needs will be allowed into the centre to help their children.
  • Group activities for adults will be limited to 30 indoors and 50 outdoors.
  • We will not be accepting bookings for Parties at this time and we will be contacting customers to cancel any bookings made for the next few weeks/ whilst Level 2 regulations remain in place in Wales.

The measures that remain in place are:

  • All visitors (11 years +) will be required to wear a face covering in the centre, except whilst exercising or if you have a medical exemption.
  • No entry to those with Covid 19 symptoms or those required to isolate based on Welsh Government rules.
  • We will ask you to clean your hands when entering the building and regularly thereafter.
  • We will record details of every person who visits the centre either through our booking system or at reception.
  • We ask you to clean all items of fitness equipment after use as a courtesy to others
  •  Our staff will continue to undertake regular intensive cleaning
  • Ventilation improvements within our centres will continue. This may mean more windows and doors open and adjustments to our mechanical systems.

We will regularly review arrangements at each centre to ensure enough space for everyone to exercise safely. That could lead to the introduction of further adjustments over the coming weeks if needed. Please follow our Social Media channels and also check the Spam folder of your email account to make sure that you receive the latest news.
