NERS

The Gwynedd Exercise Referral Scheme is part of the Welsh National Exercise Referral Scheme, which is funded by the Welsh Government and managed centrally by Public Health Wales.

It is designed for inactive adults who are either at risk of poor health or have a pre-existing medical condition. The purpose of the scheme is to promote health and wellbeing by encouraging long term physical activity.

Qualifications –Level 3 Personal Training, GP Referral, Phase IV Cardiac Rehabilitation, L4 Certificate in Exercise Training For Chronic Respiratory Disease, Postural Stability Instructor, Level 4 Certificate in Programming Physical Activity for Individuals with Low Back Pain

Fun/interesting fact – I am currently trying to learn to walk on my hands!!

Graham Pierce

Qualifications – Level 3 Personal Training, GP Referral, Phase IV Cardiac Rehabilitation, L4 Certificate in Exercise Training For Chronic Respiratory Disease, L4 Specialist Exercise and Fitness Training after Stroke Instructor qualification, L4 Certificate in Delivering Physical Activity for Individuals with Mental Health Conditions, Tai Chi Movements for Wellbeing (TMW), Level 3 Pilates 

Fun/interesting fact – I was a drummer in a metal band and my stage name was Darius Gold

Andrea Vaughan

Qualifications –Level 3 Personal Training, GP Referral, Phase IV Cardiac Rehabilitation, L4 Certificate in Exercise Training For Chronic Respiratory Disease, Postural Stability Instructor, Level 3 Pilates, L3 Adapting Exercise for the independent Older adult, L3 Adapting Exercise for ante natal and post natal women, L4 Cancer and Exercise Rehabilitation, Delivering Physical Activity for Individuals with Mental Health Conditions.

Fun/interesting fact –Completed Ironman Wales in 2019 for first time. Competing again in 2020!

Rachael Roberts

Position: Professional Referral to Practice

Professional Work Location –Byw’n Iach Bro Dysynni

Qualifications – Level 3 Personal Training, GP Referral, Phase IV Cardiac Rehabilitation, L4 Certificate in Exercise Training For Chronic Respiratory Disease, L4 Qualification in Cancer and Exercise Rehabilitation, Level 4 Obesity and Diabetes Certificate, Postural Stability Instructor, Level 3 Pilates, Tai Chi Movements for Wellbeing (TMW).

Fun/interesting fact – I enjoy the outdoors, especially swimming in the sea. In 2017 I swam a  distance of 10km in the sea.

Elain Evans

Position: Exercise Referral Professional

Professional Work Location –Byw’n Iach Arfon, Caernarfon

Qualifications –Level 2 Fitness Instructor, GP Referral

Fun/interesting fact – I used to play football for Caernarfon Town Ladies & I played Hockey for the Gwynedd Schools squad.

Fun/interesting fact – I’m an avid golfer and have played the longest hole in the UK, it’s 666 yards and called ‘the Devil’

Fun/interesting fact – I have not  missed a Wales away football game in 2 years.
